Sarfaraz Khan, a ninth-generation musician from the renowned Kirana Gharana, hails from a family deeply rooted in musical heritage. His grandfather, Ustad Abdul Quader Khan Sahab, was a distinguished Sarangi Maestro, and his great-grandfather, Ustad Sheik Abdulla Khan, served as a court musician at the Mysore Palace and for the Nawabs of Hyderabad. Following in this esteemed lineage, Sarfaraaz's father, Ustad Faiyaz Khan, is a renowned vocalist and Sarangi player. Initiated into music at age 4, Sarfaraaz received guidance from his father before training under the legendary Guru Padmavibhushan Pt. Ramnarayan. Achieving acclaim, Sarfaraaz has won the first prize in the A.I.R competition (2013) and received the Inspiring Indian Youth Icon Award (2017). As an A-grade artist from AIR, he has performed at prestigious events globally, accompanying maestros and upholding the musical legacy of his family.
